to choke, or not to choke

KP slapped his pads after his 90 odd.

Three times at least.

Atherton thought it was cause he threw his wicket away, Atherton has never understood attacking cricket.

KP wasn’t angry that he threw his innings away, he was angry that he went out.

He was on top, and the Saffers were falling apart.

The new ball may have entered his reality matrix also.

He knew if he could keep his onslaught going until stumps, the Saffers would start to have a very light nights sleep.

KP knows how the South African batsman have responded to pressure throughout the years.

In his mind if he was out on the field slapping them, and Freddie was still in the change room at stumps, the England would have the advantage.

That didn’t happen.

Instead, he and Freddie went, and Collingwood steered the ship, sure the hands were less steady and it travelled a few knots slower, but it kept going forward.

South Africa have had a very odd bowling innings so far.

Andre got the new ball ahead of Ntini, and should have been successful if not for a dodgy LB.

Morne Morkel lost the plot when South Africa weren’t in charge.

Paul Harris looked like the saviour.

Andre went for more runs than usual.

And when England were 4 wickets down they didn’t crumble.

With a new ball this morning South Africa could finish this off quickly, setting them less than 240 to win.

For England a new ball in the morning might even help them score quicker, and perhaps they can get more than 300 ahead.

But have they already got enough?

South Africa shouldn’t have made 300 in the first innings.

Had England caught better, bowled straighter, and not had the horror session where they only got Paul Harris out in swinging conditions, I believe they could have rolled them for under 200.

Why England can win.

Looks like it’s going to be a swingers day, ball should hoop.

4 wickets in hand.

A hundred maker who has read a lot of papers saying how good he is, plus last night at a secret English freemason ceremony he was awarded supreme being of earth award.

South Africa = chokers.
Edgbaston history.

South Africa have to make over 200 to win a test match.

Why South Africa Can win.

New ball should skittle England’s tail in 12 minutes.

Every South African batsman accept for Kallis has made a hundred so far.

Boucher is steely.

And chasing big scores aint like it used to be, these days the wickets don’t fall apart for the first 12 days of a test match.

You can make your own mind up from this.

I think I will stick with my hunch that England can win if South Africa choke enough, and going on the last session last night, we have seen they are still the masters of letting over sides back in.

Fucking Ambrose couldn't even wait for me to hit post could he.www.cricketwithballs.com
