Shane Watson, Jelly bean no more?

Few people have been harder on Shane Watson than me.

Thommo once said he wasn’t an all rounders asshole.

Which is lucky, cause if he was one, the all rounder would have trouble keeping healthy bowel movements.

Sime, the man with the demanding cat, once said he was the shittest test cricketer he had ever seen.

And Sime has seen Rawl Lewis and Scott Muller.

But other than them two, and the person who wrote all these, I am practically his personal dominatrix, cricket wise.

It’s not that I think he can’t play cricket, he can.

But it’s all the other things that shit me.

Dodgy hamstrings.

Big talk and little action.

Keeping the media up to date with his every fart.

Opening the batting for Queensland to the detriment of his team.

His constant selections based on little more than his physique.

His lack of Fight when things go wrong.

The amount of time he spends in the gym and not at the nets.

His Jelly bean body

But even I must reassess this man.

His last two major tournaments he has been good, damn good even.

And for the first time in his career, he has been picked for a tour based on his performances.

Not based on his blonde locks.

Not based on is “Once in a Generation Teddy bear” nature.

Not based on Australia’s sick obsession with finding the next Keith Miller.

But on the fact he bitch slapped the IPL around to the tune of man of the series.

So when Hayden was injured Watson was the natural selection.

People will still say he is not upto it, but even though I can’t stand him, I am willing to say that as a cricketer his selection is justified.

Shane does deserve to be in the squad of the best 15 one day players in Australia.

I feel so dirty.

Sos Marsh and my man Jimmy deserve to open the batting, and Cameron White is still probably more suited to the number 7/8 slot.

But Shane should take comfort that for once he got picked for results of who he is, rather than because of who he could be.

Although the rooster combs and cows blood helped I’m sure.www.cricketwithballs.com

Now with new proper english lady blogger.
