3 balls

Australia often plays its best after it’s been bundled out cheaply.

Australian bowlers seem to like the challenge.

Brett Lee especially.

In three balls to Marshall you could see that the Windies were going to have to fight like welfare mothers in America to gain the moralistic first innings high ground.

Ball one

Short fast nut, scones young Xavier on the badge. He seems to handle it well enough even smiling while holding the ice pack to his head.

Ball two

Brett Lee takes the extremely out of left field option of bowling another bouncer, this one is a throat slicer. Marshall jumps and sways at the same time. Lee tries his best Bollywood villain routine on Marshall, who laughs and laughs.

Ball three

Lee decides to pitch one in Marshall’s half and he drives it competently to mid on. The fielder at mid on, not sure who slings the ball back at Haddin, forcing Xavier to duck it to avoid further helmet work.
