Why I feel sorry for Mark Boucher

He has to stand next to Graeme Smith and Jacques Kallis for long periods of time.

It is so much more than that.

Even when Smith is out on the field Boucher seems to set most of the field.

He is the spiritual heart of the team.

The obvious choice for vice captain.

And probably the toughest South African player.

When Smith went down, Boucher taking over made sense to me.

For some reason Boucher isn't vice captain at the moment, Mittens Prince is, but with him doing what ever he is doing, and Smith off the field Boucher was the obvious choice as part time general.

Instead he was overlooked for Neil "toilet seat" McKenzie.

What an insult to a player of Boucher's standing.

Neil McKenzie has been in good form for the last 18 months, until this series.

But he is a nut bag.

And in shit form, and not the person you want to lead your country, even for a few days.

Boucher is.
