session update stumps day 4

...
Let me just start by saying Anil Kumble is a champion, let me second that with he went within a bee’s d1ck of getting a hat trick and single handedly dragging India back from the dead in this session.

Is that clear, good, now I can bag him.

He has bowled of a lot tripe today. He may have 3 wickets, but two of them, Jacques and Hayden were more to do with attacking shots that went wrong.

However.

His ball to Michael Clarke and following ball to Roy were proof the man is a champ, but that doesn’t change the fact that today I saw him bowl more long hops and full tosses than I have seen him bowl in his entire career.

This just proves the difference between good players and out an out champions, because when he did break through, thanks to a Hayden reverse sweep, he stepped back into his skin and gave Clarke a ripping wrong un first up that spat off the wicket and Dravid cleaned it up at slip.

Next ball, the hat trick ball, he bowled a straight one to Roy, which on replay looked pretty good, even though hawk eye said it was going 12 feet over the stumps. Bucknor continued Roy’s good treatment, but if I was given out to that I’d be less than pleased.

Other things happened in the session, some things that weren’t about Anil.

King Probot got his calculator out and made his figures work.

Harbhajan continued to bowl well, and the Aussies were offered the light.

Australia now lead by 200 odd with 6 wickets in hand.

The wicket almost started looking like a 4th day wicket there for at least 10 minutes.

But if India bat aggressively they will probably need 300 from 60 or 70 odd overs.
