first test session three

Ponting does not fuck around getting his hundred bringing it up in the first over with a force off the back foot off Kumble.

He bellows a non kid friendly fuck yeah and does a one handed swipe at an imaginary demon.

Or Bhaji had run through out of shot.

Probot nicks one to Dhoni, who drops it, hard chance, but that is the first chance put down. The commentators say it his thigh, I thought it hit his glove. Only the top glovemen would have got close to it.

I am loving the crow flying in front of the camera as the bowler comes in, it represents some sort of gothic cricket match. Are they picking at the bones of Jason Krejza in the out field?

I stand corrected it’s a kite. Cool.

For those who haven’t seen any of the game, it’s like a freaking Alfred Hitchock film, lucky Shane Watson isn’t out there.

Australia went about accumulating, King Probot nudged around, and Ricky Ponting went along swimmingly.

Then Rudi joined Rauf in the sin bin, after Ponting scooped the ball straight back to Kumble.

I thought it was out, Kumble thought it was out, and Dhoni seemed to concur.

But neither umpire agreed, and the 3rd umpire wasn’t disturbed, not out.

On the replays, which weren’t the best angles, showed the old hit the ground, then bunted the ball back to Kumble.

It must be said, that Kumble appealed for it, rather than really claimed it, and no other indian players, especially the side on ones seemed that concerned.

But it does seem to be out.

This spell by Kumble was good, gone were the pressure releasing balls of earlier in the day, he worked over King Probot and you couldn’t work out why he hadn’t got him out.

What really killed India, especially in Kumble’s spell was singles.

There were everywhere, and he struggled to bowl six balls to either batsmen.

Kumble started to get frustrated, and when he hit Ponting on the hip, he appealed like a man in the docks, it wasn’t out, it was two high, but the appeal was full of passion, and it ended up with Rudi tea potting and looking a little stroppy.

Mind you hawkeye said it was out, but from side on when it hit Ponting it seemed to be already higher than the stumps.

Then Sehwag came on and he almost instantly looked like the best offspinner in India’s team, so Bhaji got a wicket next over.

Potning was given out LB sweeping, looked at first view like it hit outside of off stump, according to hawkeye it wasn’t, but it also wasn’t hitting the stumps according to hawkeye.

I am willing to say that even if it wasn’t out, like Rauf’s other mistake, it did look pretty out before the super slo mo, hawkeye and 23 replays.

It did was delay the new ball.

Clarke looks at home on subbie wickets, where the other batsman are obviously working through it, he looks like a natural.

Kumble sensing that one more wicket was needed brought himself back on, and bowled a Stuey MacGill over. 13 off it, and his murderousness was brought back on

The new ball was taken eventually, and Khan got Clarke with a plumb one.

Perhaps the new ball should have been taken earlier.

Hussey went about his stuff as per usual.

Kumble has gone wicket less, but has been the best bowler, Khan and Sharma both bowled well at times, and Bhaji bowled pies all day.

Ponting was the story, his innings was that of a champion, and he controlled the say, and he is the reason Australia is in a great position.

India are still in there though, they managed to keep Australia’s scoring rate down, and although there are 3 specialist batsmen to come, they are all inexperienced at this level.

Could go either way from here, but you would prefer to be in Australia’s position.www.cricketwithballs.com... Aussie Haiku straight to your box
