first test session two

I know I have already called for Ponting and Kumble to be castrated.

But Kumble obviously didn’t take it seriously.

27 overs in the first session with 13 being bowled by spinners.

If spinners bowl 13 overs in a session and you can’t make your quota, you don’t deserve your nuts.

Apparently the sun is stuffing up the satellite feed from India to England, whoa there it goes, now I have Ian Ward explaining satellites again, gripping stuff.

Ponting gets past 50, he looks very good, this is probably the worst thing that could happen to India, he was the one they thought they had in their pocket.

Katich gets a decision go his way as Kumble hits him on the pad, looks pretty adjacent, but he is a long ay down and is given the benefit.

Kumble has bowled some very good deliveries, but he has bowled more bad balls today than he used to.

I think that is the difference between the old Kumble and the Older Kumble, more loose balls, and so the pressure isn’t as intense.

Although to be fair, there doesn’t seem to be much pressure on Australia in general at the moment.

Ponting seems to be seeing Bhaji ok, just put him over the animal fence.

He now has his top score in India.

With one wicket down, you look at the batting order that is strong all the way to 8, and you think without a collapse or two, this could be a big couple of days in the field for India.

Ponting almost played on to adams apple, but he and katich have now put on over 150, their last 50 came from only 63 balls.

More bad news for India, I just worked out that nearly all of Clarke’s hundreds come when he enters the crease with the score over 150.

The broadcasters just did something hilarious.

They showed a graph of Ponting’s record against all the test nations, Eng, WI, Pak, Ind, SA and OTHER.

New Zealand and Sri Lanka were lumped in with the minnows.

Kumble has gone very defensive with his quicks, deep covers out, perhaps telling them to bowl straight was too tough.

Katich goes to Sharma, typical Krab out, used up all his footwork for before the ball was bowled, then hung his bat a mile from his body.

India needed that badly, their body language was getting toxic.

And it woke up the crowd as well.

In this session only Sharma and Kumble have looked like taking wickets, and Kumble was the best bowler.

Ponting has looked very good, Katich looked solid, and his wicket was a bit of a surprise.

Bhaji has been disappointing, he has bowled flat, looked lifeless, Ponting has played him like a part timer.

I think he is better suited to being a bit of a nut job wild boy, this choir boy thing is crap.

India just limp to 30 overs that session, even though the spinners must have bowled more than half.

It's not all bad news for India, Australia's run rate is just average, usually they would be well over 200 by now, so if India take a few quick wickets they can still restrict them to a mountable total.www.cricketwithballs.com... Aussie Haiku straight to your box
