2nd Session, quicker than the first

Suave has perfectly explained about the South Africans and their plumpness.

England decided to keep themselves at snails pace (that word again), until Strauss got a dodgy decision.

Morne Morkled one straight and full, and Daryl Harper was up, never mind that the ball was outside leg.

Michael Vaughn went out bowled again.

It was a great nut.

It would have beaten a lot of batsmen.

It was fast and swingy.

But Vaughan missed it the same way he misses all balls on the stumps, with his mouth wide in wonderment, and him just getting into position as the bail hits the ground.

Not one looks better one second after they go out than M Vaughan.

The pace didn’t come quickly, sorry, but when it came, it came long a man just out of prison.

Alistair Cook trialled a new tactic of playing short balls by hopping, that tactic quickly failed.

Morkel was fired up, and the young quicks for South Africa looked ready to party.

England asked for this.

They were on top for 3 hours, and refused to push ahead by scoring quickly and belting the many short wide deliveries on offer.

Then the pressure got to England, Collingwood wasn’t watching his first ball, and KP hit the ball to Ntini and ran.

Collingwood got through his nerves by playing a shot a ball.

Slowly but surely England edged back towards some sort of respectability.

Kp continued to bat like Mike Atherton.

And he got hit in the head for his trouble.

Marks are even for the day, but England would like to up the ante and get another partnership happening.www.cricketwithballs.com
