tales of a wet and fast first day

Australia hooked and pulled themselves into trouble last night.

But boy did they have fun doing it.

Jacques, Hussey and Katich all went out playing them.

Australia lost 7 wickets and still scored at 4 an over.

This was good ol boy cricket, pissing into the wind style.

That will stop tomorrow as Beau Casson is in.

Beau bats like a cockroach.

He could survive a nuclear war (which for Australia means reverse swing).

He probably won’t make many runs, but he usually takes a lot of effort to remove.

Him and Lee put on huge numbers in partnership against the Vics, actually I'd rather not discuss that final.

So they have a history.

They are the sort of batsman who could really frustrate the Windies a lot, and then Johnson and Clark will come back in and be good ol boys again.

Gayle wants a quick finish to this innings, but you’d think the Aussies could still wiggle their way to about 300 at very worst, and that would make this a great set up.

Have I mentioned I like this wicket.

Good.

Dwayne Smackdown Bravo continued to be the best 2nd change seam bowler in world cricket.

And they brought in another new spinner, who I refuse to mention cause he will be dropped soon and never heard of again.

Also a smarter man than I, put my Michael Clarke theory, that he doesn’t make runs when the score is less than 150, to the test.

He agreed with me.www.cricketwithballs.com

Now with new proper english lady blogger.
