India won, Australia fell apart, and Mike Hussey bowled some overs.
A dream test match for some.
Australia
Good: This is a hard one, Michael Clarkes rebuttal innings and Peter Siddles heart on debut are as close as you can get.
Bad: Haydenâ™s form, Clarkâ™s elbow, over rates, Ponting against Sharma, no spinner, the credit crunch, and the fact they just got their pants pulled down.
Ugly: Everything to do with Brett Lee is ugly at the moment.
India
Good: Dhoniâ™s captaincy, the opening partnership (bat or ball), Mishraâ™s presence.
Bad: pass
Ugly: The only think I can think of is that Kumble might come back and Dhoni and Mishra might get relegated.
ButÂ
How big is the win: Huge, but it is still only one win.
Will Australia ever recuperate: Yes, but probably not this series.
Will India get too excited: It is possible, but they have a huge edge, and it may not matter.
The Clint Eastwood Player
MS Dhoni is the real difference in this test.
Still not convinced of him as a tactical captain, but the team certainly steps up around him.
The Lee Van Cleef player
Ishant Sharma for this one, he is the one bowler that Australia cannot get on top of at any time.
Bhaji and Khan have both bowled some great spells, but Sharma has been the man from beginning to the end.
The Eli Wallach player
Amit Mishra gets this, before the series people were surprised he had jumped Chawla, but one innings in and he had proved his worth.
7 wickets on debut, nice work son.
The Ennio Morricone moment
Australiaâ™s media trying to make more of Zaheer Khanâ™s wanky display.
He lost 80% of his match fee, and looked like a dickhead.
Not much of a story there.
