Ricky hasn't been in the news much recently

The media have left Australia alone for a while.

It's all Shoaib this, and IPL that.

It can be frustrating to be captain of the best team in the world when the media aren't knocking on your door to ask about bastard monkeys.

So maybe Ricky was a little out of form at his press conference saying, "We can hopefully remain number 1".

He was giving a speech about being the number test team in the world, again, and that is the best he could come up with, hopefully.

That does not sound like the fire and brimstone of his predecessor.

Or even the vague mumblings of that man before him.

Perhaps with the IPL in his thoughts, Ricky's mind just wasn't quite on it.
