Herschelle Gibbs was international class at athletics (his Dad was 100yard record holder in SA) , rugby and football! Many of my SA pals saw Gibbs and said he was a fantastic fly half and would definitely have been a Springbok superstar. Herschelle himself said he preferred to play football to all of the other activities but his father convinced him to take up cricket - mainly because he could play for a far greater length of time.
